Take a few minutes to enhance your coffee routine with the new Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups. With just a couple of simple ingredients you can transform your everyday cup into a favorite—like a vanilla latte—without any fancy equipment.
These days, I’m lucky to enjoy a proper cup of coffee once a day. I’m the kind of person who drinks coffee slowly and deliberately—preferably in a calm, peaceful moment. I don’t sip coffee while on mom duty. I look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when the kids attend a Mom’s Day Out program at our local church. After drop-off and right before I start work, I take about 30 minutes of quiet time with a hot cup of coffee. Other days I wait until nap time for that moment, but it isn’t always guaranteed.
When those small pockets of peace do happen, I like to make them special. Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups help me flavor my coffee just the way I like it. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen me use Tate+Lyle® Fairtrade Certified Sugars—particularly their raw cane sugar—in my coffee. This fall they introduced flavored syrups in Caramel, Hazelnut, and Vanilla. The Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups come in 12.7 fl. oz. bottles and are great for coffee, tea, sodas, smoothies, and cocktails. Tate+Lyle® has been a trusted sweetener brand since 1878 in the U.K. and is now available across the U.S.
When I want to make my “me” time extra special, I flavor my coffee with these syrups. One of my go-to drinks is a simple vanilla latte, but I don’t own an espresso machine or any specialized equipment. I shared a way to make milk froth using a mason jar and the microwave—this is how I make my vanilla latte at home using Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups. If you don’t have an espresso machine but want a homemade vanilla latte, pick up Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups in the sugar aisle at Walmart or in the coffee aisle at other retailers and follow the easy recipe below.

Nikki Gladd
Ingredients
- ½ cup strong brewed coffee
- ½ cup low-fat milk
- 2 tablespoons Tate+Lyle® Vanilla Pure Cane Syrup
Instructions
-
Pour ½ cup hot, strong brewed coffee into an 8-ounce mug. To make the foam, combine the milk and syrup in a mason jar (at least a pint-size jar). Tightly secure the lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Remove the lid and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Using a spoon to hold back the foam, pour the warmed milk into the coffee. Spoon the foam on top and serve immediately.
