Quick and easy
The air fryer yields perfectly roasted broccoli in just a few minutes. I often roast veggies as I’m preparing other parts of a meal — they make a satisfying, healthy snack that keeps me from nibbling on less nutritious options.
Try serving this broccoli with a light dipping sauce like cottage cheese ranch for a tasty snack or side.

Simple veggie side dish
Air frying concentrates flavor and gives vegetables a lightly browned, roasted finish. This broccoli is a classic side that pairs well with roasted or twice-baked potatoes, tossed into salads, added to pasta, or mixed into a broccoli rice casserole.
It also makes a great standalone snack.

For the love of broccoli
There are many ways to enjoy broccoli—roasted in the oven, miso-roasted, honey-orange glazed, or caramelized on the stovetop. The air fryer is another quick method that delivers excellent texture and flavor.
This version is vegan, gluten-free, and straightforward—perfect when you want a healthy, no-fuss side.

Air Fryer benefits
An air fryer works like a compact convection oven: it cooks faster, uses less energy, and doesn’t heat your kitchen as much as a full-size oven. It’s handy for small batches of roasted vegetables and many other dishes.

Recipe tips
Start with about one pound of broccoli florets, roughly bite-sized. You can use pre-cut florets or cut them yourself; the stalk is edible too if peeled and trimmed. Try to keep pieces a similar size so they cook evenly.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket—if the broccoli is packed tightly it will steam instead of browning. The broccoli will shrink during cooking, so what looks like a full basket will reduce in volume.
Small florets cook in roughly 5–6 minutes; larger pieces can take 8 minutes or a bit longer. Shake the basket halfway through and check for your preferred level of browning.
Gussy up your veggies
Enhance the finished broccoli with a sprinkle of Parmesan, a squeeze of lemon, a dash of lemon pepper, or serve it simply with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Debi
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons light-flavored oil (olive oil, avocado, or similar)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt, or to taste
- Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Place broccoli florets in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Air fry for 6–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until broccoli reaches your desired level of tenderness and browning.
Notes
The broccoli will shrink as it cooks. If the basket seems full at first, it’ll reduce in volume once roasted. If you have a small air fryer, cook in two batches for the best browning.
