Today I’m sharing easy appetizers for a party and showing how to assemble a simple, beautiful hummus plate — one of the best appetizer ideas for entertaining. These are a few of our favorite bites to set out before dinner.

Party Appetizers
Easy party appetizers are my go-to when guests arrive. I love the relaxed vibe of grazing plates — they’re perfect for family nights or casual gatherings with friends.
For another crowd-pleaser, try a classic charcuterie board next time. I often turn to simple, fresh ingredients and a few ready-made items to keep prep quick and stress-free.
I’m excited to partner with Sabra to share one of our favorite pre-dinner traditions: an informal “unofficial meal.” This casual time together — snacking, chatting and laughing — is one of the highlights of our day.
We enjoy serving hummus with a mix of fruits, vegetables, cheeses and crackers. The kids can dig in, talk about their day and socialize without the formality of a sit-down meal. It’s a comfortable, hands-on way to connect before dinner.
Appetizer Ideas

We make assembling the hummus plate a family activity. Each person contributes something: fresh vegetables, grapes, crackers, a cheese or two, and some sliced meats. It’s simple to customize based on what you have and what your guests enjoy.

There are no strict rules — arrange your ingredients neatly for a more polished look, or toss things on a board for a relaxed feel. With energetic kids around, our setup tends to be casual, but it’s always inviting.

I love watching everyone dive in and compare favorites. Those little conversations at the table often spark more connection and laughter than the main meal.

Below is a simple guide to what we include on our hummus plate so you can recreate this easy, crowd-friendly appetizer for your next gathering.
