Less is more. That lesson followed me from childhood into adulthood. My grandmother would tell me, “Nene, you’re still young. That nail polish is too dark.” At twelve I thought my bright pink nails were daring; over time I learned the quiet power of restraint. The same idea shaped my writing in graduate school, where an advisor’s red pen taught me that fewer words often deliver a stronger message.

Now I try to keep things pared down—less clutter, simpler décor, clearer focus. In the kitchen I return again and again to simple recipes that rely on a few thoughtful ingredients to deliver bold flavor. That approach is what drew me to collaborate with TRISCUIT for their Made for More campaign and inspired this recipe for Caramelized Grape, Brie and Walnut Bites.

TRISCUIT champions creators who start with simple ideas and build them into something greater. I love that spirit—both in food and in life. Grapes are often overlooked outside of the fruit bowl or a glass of wine, but when lightly caramelized they become intensely flavorful. Pairing honey-glazed grapes with creamy brie, crunchy walnuts and a hearty TRISCUIT cracker creates an elegant bite that proves how much flavor you can get from a handful of ingredients.

These bites are ideal for a quick snack, an appetizer for guests, or a simple party plate. The caramelized grapes add a sweet, jammy note that complements the mild, earthy character of brie. Walnuts provide texture and a toasty contrast, while TRISCUIT crackers bring a pleasing crunch and whole-grain flavor to hold it all together. A light drizzle of balsamic glaze is optional, but it adds a bright tang that balances the sweetness if you choose to include it.

Making these is simple: caramelize grapes in honey and a touch of water until they soften and begin to burst, then cool slightly. Assemble by topping a TRISCUIT cracker with a slice of brie, a few caramelized grapes, a sprinkle of chopped walnuts, and a drizzle of the honey sauce. Finish with balsamic glaze if desired and serve immediately for best texture.
